A Holly Jolly Christmas Party

12.15.2014

Gingerbread. Check. Christmas Playlist. Check. Fake Santa Beards on a Stick. Check.  Our church's college age group got together last night for a fantastic Christmas Party! There was dancing, games, a gift exchange, thunderstorms, Christmas lights, santa hats, laughing, a giant stick of sausage, football (well for part of the evening anyways) hot cocoa, shoot, even T. Swift made an appearance.

Besides hanging out with all of these fabulous people, my favorite part of the evening was the photo booth.  Just wanted to stop in and share a few of the great moments that were captured.

Oh and did I mention...Dane got the latest Taylor Swift album in the gift exchange.  It has been on repeat pretty much all day long.  And, I came home with the best Starbucks cup!  Perfect way to add a little cute to my New Years Resolution to drink more water!

Merry Christmas Everyone!  Love Always!

Christmas At Hello Sailor- Christy's December Picks

12.04.2014

It's my favorite time of year!  I love the lights, the sparkle, the cozy fires, and Hello Sailor has not disappointed.  While I was working today a guy walked in and said to me, "you all have transformed this place into a beautiful Christmas scene."  I couldn't agree more.  It has been a fun month at the shop.  And I'm here tonight to share some of my favorites with you!
This green cabinet has a barn wood top and is on wheels!
This has got to be the perfect little fireplace set up.  The large Christmas tree canvas...well it glows in the dark...and it is coming home with me...seriously.  It is in my car right now!
The perfect yellow!  And check out how cute those vintage wooden bowling pins are.

 Outerspace Thermos. Ummm. Yes!
Gorgeous lines to these chairs.

I love this because my Grandma Beb used to have games just like this one.  I'm pretty sure us cousins played them until they broke.
This is a mail sorter...also coming home with me.  It was such a fabulous price, I couldn't pass it up.  It is going to hang on my wall in my office and make my life super organized!  I can't wait!  Hopefully Dane picked up that drill at Home Depot today :)

The transistor radio.  I'm all about the little pouch.  And you are going to see glass domes over all of my Christmas decor this year!  What a fun idea!

Don't ask.  Since when did I get into taxidermy?  Not going to lie, if he was mine, he would have jewelry hanging from those antlers.

I want every single thing in this picture.  The driftwood vase, the plaza poster, the table, the oval wooden dough bowl.
 Isn't this just the cutest?

This table is even more gorgeous in person.  Seriously, this picture does NOT do it justice!

Dane and I don't have our own personal stockings at our house yet.  Kind of loving the creamy vintage look!

This table is amazing! It is long, skinny, and really thin.  I know exactly where I would put it in my house, but sadly, I left the CRV with Dane.

If you would like to shop Hello Sailor, we are open this weekend, Friday-Sunday.  It is so much fun!  Want to see more items from our store, check out our Facebook page!

Gifts That Give Back: For the Ladies

12.03.2014

We all love giving and getting gifts during the Christmas Season.  So often we buy gifts for the sake of buying, but what if we all committed to having our money make a difference this Christmas Season?  Instead of buying junk, what if we committed to buying something that brings opportunity to those here in the USA and around the world?

In previous posts I shared about the world market my church put on in November.  During that time I began to do a lot of research into fair trade products and products that, not only would I enjoy but would also love to give to others.  So the idea of "Gifts that Give" was born.  As we lead up to Christmas, I'll be stopping by to share 3 posts about Gifts that Give.  Today we begin with the ladies and in the coming days I'll share gifts for the gents, and gifts for the kiddies.  All of the gifts featured here are from companies that either support fair trade, fair working conditions, make a difference in the lives of people or provide ethical economic opportunities to the impoverished around the world.

So I hope you'll check some of the products out.  I've provided links to the websites where you can find these items and encourage you to surf their webpages.  You'll be amazed at what all is out there, and maybe even try to buy at least one gift that makes a difference this Christmas season.

Happy shopping and Merry Christmas!
