Christmas At Hello Sailor- Christy's December Picks

12.04.2014

It's my favorite time of year!  I love the lights, the sparkle, the cozy fires, and Hello Sailor has not disappointed.  While I was working today a guy walked in and said to me, "you all have transformed this place into a beautiful Christmas scene."  I couldn't agree more.  It has been a fun month at the shop.  And I'm here tonight to share some of my favorites with you!
This green cabinet has a barn wood top and is on wheels!
This has got to be the perfect little fireplace set up.  The large Christmas tree canvas...well it glows in the dark...and it is coming home with me...seriously.  It is in my car right now!
The perfect yellow!  And check out how cute those vintage wooden bowling pins are.

 Outerspace Thermos. Ummm. Yes!
Gorgeous lines to these chairs.

I love this because my Grandma Beb used to have games just like this one.  I'm pretty sure us cousins played them until they broke.
This is a mail sorter...also coming home with me.  It was such a fabulous price, I couldn't pass it up.  It is going to hang on my wall in my office and make my life super organized!  I can't wait!  Hopefully Dane picked up that drill at Home Depot today :)

The transistor radio.  I'm all about the little pouch.  And you are going to see glass domes over all of my Christmas decor this year!  What a fun idea!

Don't ask.  Since when did I get into taxidermy?  Not going to lie, if he was mine, he would have jewelry hanging from those antlers.

I want every single thing in this picture.  The driftwood vase, the plaza poster, the table, the oval wooden dough bowl.
 Isn't this just the cutest?

This table is even more gorgeous in person.  Seriously, this picture does NOT do it justice!

Dane and I don't have our own personal stockings at our house yet.  Kind of loving the creamy vintage look!

This table is amazing! It is long, skinny, and really thin.  I know exactly where I would put it in my house, but sadly, I left the CRV with Dane.

If you would like to shop Hello Sailor, we are open this weekend, Friday-Sunday.  It is so much fun!  Want to see more items from our store, check out our Facebook page!

Christy's November Hello Sailor Picks.

11.08.2014

It is hard to believe November is already here.  I am up here in Kansas City documenting all the goodies arriving in store at Hello Sailor, and am stopping in to give you some of my favorite picks this month.  Like this curved sofa.  Dane and I are still on the search for a sofa for our home.

City Scape Painting makes me miss you Drew Wutke!
 I love long tables.
These chairs date back to 1947.

How adorable are these homemade sock stick horses?
I realize this is simple and easy to create...syrup bottle+rusty nails.  But something about it just registers with me.
I've really been into random industrial pieces off of machines and such.  This is an old wheel of a wheel borrow!
I've always been a sucker for vintage Christmas.  I can't help but think of John Jensen when I see this.  In fact, I may even pick up the little guy, because I'm pretty sure John has him in his window every single year.  And according to my Christmas Light rating scale for houses...John just does it right.
Industrial. Check. Wheels. Check.  Little compartments inside to give everything the perfect home...BONUS!

Ok usually I am not a Santa...Stanta (inside joke)...Satan (thank you church lady) fan.  In fact, tonight I just had a discussion about Santa vomit with a friend on pinterest.  (yes you can have discussions on pinterest)  But something about this jolly vintage version makes it all ok.
GLOBES!  Thanks to Mama Wutke we've began our collection!
Someday I want to own a table with leaves.   We love having people over, and I would love to have this little table, that I could easily create into a giant table to accommodate.
And to wrap up November...why not get ready for December?  Silver trees...They have always made my heart smile.

If you would like to see more from Hello Sailor, you should stop by our facebook page.  facebook.com/hellosailorkc  I'm always putting up new pictures of fabulous items arriving in store.

Hello Sailor. Christy's October Picks

10.02.2014

Well, its October. Officially my favorite month of the year.  It's only day 2 and has already been fabulous.

What have I loved about the past two days:
- On my drive to KC I was intoxicated with the colours of the trees surrounding me
- My Royals are in the postseason. Intently watching the first game tonight!!!
- It has rained all day.  The smell in the air is just delicious.
- I met my new little friend Daxton Krizan.  He da bes!
- Breaking out the scarves as the cooler weather rolls in.
- And then this...all the great new stuff in store this month at Hello Sailor.  Here are my in store picks for October.

I'm a sucker for a good vintage clock and we have about 30 in store this month!  Be still my heart.

I can't say no to anything that is industrial and has compartments.
These are HUGE wire baskets.  They would be great for shoes, winter scarves/hats/gloves. Adorable with gourds and pumpkins.  Perfect for corralling blankets in a living room.  Fabulous next to a fireplace with fresh cut logs.  You get the picture.
This industrial work bench.
This bead board table is 8 feet long.  I think long tables are the best.  And these amazing chairs.
They are so simple to create.  I tell ya what, I need to own a table saw so I can create these sorts of goodies.
Old Milk Jug Baskets.  The green handles make me happy.
This table is narrow and would be perfect behind a sofa or in front of a window.  Super cute and I love the lower shelf.

This light is absolutely stunning.  You just need to see it in person.
I am in love with this collection of wooden bowls.  I love the idea of filling them with succulents.
Loving this cat ring holder.  I've been looking for great ways to organize my rings, but in order to hold all of mine, its tail would have to go to the ceiling!
We have every letter of the alphabet in store this month, and they light up, two of my favorite things combined into one!

My philosophy: If you are a piece of furniture with wheels, you automatically become fabulous.
 Wooden base lamp.
 Solid Brass Buck.

And finally this wonderfully colourful world map.

There you go, my picks from Hello Sailor this month.  You can see more of our items in store over on our blog or on our facebook page!
